Easter is right around the corner and Kayla and I have been looking for some different ways of decorating eggs this year. It will come as no surprise that I turned to my favorite source of inspiration for ideas – Pinterest. We found 6 great suggestions we’re going to try out this year.
1. Shaving Cream Easter Eggs
These look super easy (although possibly a bit messy). The shaving cream gives a fun marbled effect in a variety of pastel colors.
2. Tie Dye Easter Eggs
In a similar vein, these tie-dye Easter eggs give a fun swirl of color while remaining completely safe to eat. The best part is the materials are all things you probably have already.
3. Rice Shake Easter Eggs
I love the more subtle effect of these rice shake Easter eggs. Again, this technique uses everyday items you most likely have around the house (provided you eat a lot of rice like we do!)
4. Oil Marbled Easter Eggs
Here are more pretty pastle eggs. This project would be a fun way to teach smaller kids about the properties of oil and water.
5. Mood Easter Eggs
Remember mood rings? Yeah, I’m that old too. Well these eggs change color with heat just like those old rings did. The project requires special paint but they are just so cool I had to include them here.
6. Unicorn Easter Eggs
This project is all Kayla. She loves unicorns and when she spotted these eggs I knew we’d be making them. I must admit, they are pretty cute.
I hope you like these projects as much as I do. Happy Easter and Happy Crafting!
